​

 

*Holder of a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Education Management from the University of Greenwich, and Certificate in Education (Cert. Ed) a three-year full-time course culminating in the award of qualified teacher status, from London University. Sean is both an Associate and a Fellow of the College of Preceptors (historic association of teachers).

 

*A professional writer and author who has published numerous books and has, in the past, contributed full-page features to, among other major media, the London Evening Standard (London's principal daily newspaper).

 

*Trained by BBC Radio as a freelance contributor and editor, BBC Radio 4 talks and magazine programmes. 

 

*Served at senior level in education management for many years, and as an inspector of independent schools with the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in the United Kingdom.

*Former Principal of the International School of Florence (Junior School), Bagno a Ripoli, Italy. One of a number of tutors at Dulwich College Preparatory School, educating the grandchildren of the 1st Viscount D'Lisle, William Sidney VC, and part of the team of teachers educating certain of the children of the King of Swaziland (now Eswatini) at Buckswood School, Hastings.

*A former London borough politician, sitting on various strategic committees including: Town Planning, Licencing (Deputy Chairman), Police Liaison, Environmental Health (Deputy Chairman), Education, Schools and Education Development committees. Sean has served as a governor of both state and independent schools in the UK, as well as a consultant, adviser and 'trouble shooter' to independent school heads and governing bodies.

*A former committee member of a Housing Association, responsible for four housing complexes throughout SE London. He is currently Chairman of Manor Housing Association.

*Extensive international experience, visiting many countries in different capacities, including Tunisia, Morocco, South Korea, The Republic of Georgia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Russia, Eswatini, Cambodia and extensively throughout Europe, where Sean continues to be a regular visitor to Florence and Venice.

Interests: Travel. Writing (plays, fiction and non-fiction). Art (French impressionists and Italian Renaissance painters and sculptors). Music: French impressionist composers, Debussy, Ravel and Satie, and the English composer Benjamin Britten.

Sean is a trained classical musician. He has performed as a principal baritone with the Cirencester Operatic Society and other musical organisations. He has sung at private events.
